Choosing a school for your child is an important decision. One of the most important factors in a child’s success at Montessori Children’s Community is the parents’ knowledge of the Montessori Method as well as the commitment to provide this educational experience for their child. We strive to find a “good fit” for the child and the school. Having a clear understanding of our philosophy and programs will ensure a successful admissions process and ultimately happy children with enthusiastic parents.
We have several Open Houses throughout the year and offer private tours of the school and classrooms when necessary. We encourage you to attend an Open House with your child when possible.
The admissions process is quite easy. Throughout the process, members of the MCC staff will help you to better understand the differences between a traditional education and an individualized Montessori education. By the end of the admissions process, we feel confident that you will feel MCC is the right fit for your child and your family.
Our rolling admissions process allows students to be admitted throughout the school year when possible. We accept applications throughout the year for the upcoming academic school year and follow a “first come first serve” policy for admittance to our programs. Priority is given to family members of currently-enrolled students. In the event a classroom is filled, we move your child’s name to a wait list on which we refer to the date that your application was received.
We follow these guidelines to ensure that all families have information about the school before their child would be considered for acceptance. MCC has a wait list policy. In the event the classroom is at capacity , we will hold your application for one year. If a space becomes available we will contact you directly. Letters of acceptance are sent after the admissions visit and the receipt of teacher recommendations (when applicable).
Montessori Children’s Community welcomes racial, cultural, and religious diversity, and families of every background. We admit students of any race, color, and national origin.
He does it with his hands, by experience, first in play and then through work. The hands are the instruments of man's intelligence. - Maria Montessori
An Open House is a great opportunity for both you and your child to visit our school, see our classrooms, and meet our teachers. Children enjoy seeing and learning new things and you will be able see how your child interacts within our environment. Many children and their families attend, and our current students are available to give tours as well. We encourage you to attend an Open House and to see first hand how Montessori Children’s Community can change your child’s “world”.
There are no additional Open House date scheduled for this year. Please check back for next year's dates after July.
We are happy to schedule a private tour. Please call 412-741-8982 to arrange a visit.
